Masala Zone is the result of a passion to present the real flavours of India at affordable prices. It is very traditional, casual, friendly and fun.

The first Masala Zone opened in Soho in May 2001, followed by Upper Street, Islington, Earls Court and then Covent Garden in 2007. Created by the owners of Chutney Mary, Veeraswamy and Amaya, Masala Zone is the result of a passion to present the real flavours of India at very, very affordable prices. It is very traditional, casual, friendly and fun.

sev puri - wholewheat biscuits piled with spiced mash and three fresh chutneys
dahi puri - puffed hollow biscuits filled with chickpeas mash and splashed
gol guppa - lentil and tamarind stuffed wholewheat biscuits. fill them with the spicy dressing and pop whole into your mouth!

undhiyo and lenti khichdi v - mix of vegetables – sweet potato, raw banana, baby aubergine, snow peas, purple yam, val dal cooked with greens, a celebratory gujarati dish

thali – the balanced meal
the traditional indian way of eating. the meal is served on a large platter (called a thali) with several bowls of different dishes, giving a balanced combination of nutrition, flavours, textures and colours. the dishes are eaten in any order you wish with chapattis (the bread generally eaten in Indian homes) and/or rice
