Wicked Wednesdays! "You're not being told the whole story..." Was the Wicked Witch of the West really wicked or the victim of a corrupt regime? You might think you know the whole story about the Land of Oz, but this award-winning stage production encourages the audience to look at things very differently. Skilfully and accessibly exploring themes of friendship, acceptance, trust and tolerance, WICKED stimulates and encourages debate about prejudice, persecution and the manipulation of public opinion. Since its West End premiere in 2006, over 250,000 pupils have been enthralled and inspired by WICKED, a level of engagement we now wish to share with you to enhance your pupils' experience. It also supports the Every Child Matters and Patterns of Family Life frameworks. This year Wicked is supporting young writing with the launch of the Wicked Young Writers Competition. Young people can enter pieces either written at home or at school on a theme or subject of their choice. Schools will be encouraged to enter writing on behalf of their pupils through an online Teachers' Resource and schools' entry form.
