Carbon Bar

Top DJ's who've paid their dues in Ibiza and headlined at clubs across London play at Carbon Bar from just after work to well after midnight, Monday to Saturday. Keep it low key in the heavy industrial Chain Room, or see and be seen in the VIP Champagne Room on the mezzanine level. Either way, you'll be in your element.

The Cumberland is a hotel that can inspire, enthral and amaze, by combining challenging contemporary design with the very highest levels of comfort and service.

This is the result. A world class hotel filled with original sculpture, paintings and other pieces that make it a work of art in itself.

The Cumberland was built in the late 1920’s overseen by the architects Frederick Wills and Oliver Bernard. It first opened its doors on 12th December 1933 with King George V and Queen Mary attending the launch. The hotel set a number of achievements in the hotel industry being the first to have private en-suite bathrooms and telephones in each room.

The Cumberland offers guests a contemporary experience with its combination of original sculpture and paintings in the lobby, and modern bedrooms in which the headboards have been designed using references and influences from the architecture that surrounds the hotel.

Carbon Bar which is part of the hotel also offers something a little different with its fusion of textures and industrial glamour. And the latest addition to the hotel, Rhodes W1 Restaurant, has been created by renowned British interior designer Kelly Hoppen.
