The Jolly St Ermin's Hotel is indeed jolly, with its highly decorative public areas and plush soft furnishings.
The hotel was originally built as mansion flats in 1887. It wasn't until 1905 that is was delevoped as a hotel. Due to its proximity to the Houses of Parliament it became popular with members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords. It still has those links today though the hotel is more popular with today's visitor looking to explore the area that is not only the centre of the UK's political life but home to some of London's best known buildings.
This is one of the few hotels located within the Division Bell area. It is also close to St James's Park, one of London's most beautiful Royal Parks, which is bordered by Buckingham Palace, Green Park, and Horse Guards' Parade and other top tourist attractions.
