In July 2009 an extensive £10 million restoration and refurbishment programme which completed and the investment has seen the Edwardian façade lovingly restored and bedrooms completely modernised with a vibrant colour palette of rich reds, greys and creams, stylish contemporary furnishings and state of the art technology including LCD TVs.
Public areas have also been transformed including the new restaurant and bar which offer a twist of traditional Edwardian features with modern furnishings and soft atmospheric lighting. The 7 meeting rooms haven’t been left untouched either, new stylish contemporary furniture, diverse lighting system and the highest quality AV equipment has all been installed to provide an aspiring and productive environment.
Formerly known as Thistle Bloomsbury, the hotel has reverted back to its original name of ‘The Kingsley’ as a mark of its literary heritage to the author Charles Kingsley and the Bloomsbury Set.
At The Kingsley you have a choice of dining right through the day and on into the night. Relaxed and welcoming, the contemporary refurbished Kingsley Two Brasserie has an enticing menu featuring a range of British and European dishes, complemented by an extensive wine list.
Meanwhile, the Bar and Lounge serves a wide range of drinks, snacks and light meals in informal surroundings – perfect between meetings, after work or before dinner. And if you’re starting early, or staying up late, the full room service menu means you can always get hold of a drink, snack or light meal, even out of hours.
