Michael Jackson has been commemorated in the West End with a permanent memorial, unveiled 24 June 2010 in the Lyric Theatre, which is home to Thriller - Live. The unveiling of the plaque, in the foyer, marks a year since Jackson’s death and Thriller - Live's long residency at the venue.
Executive director of Thriller - Live Adrian Grant, who knew Jackson for more than 20 years, said: “We (have) unveiled this plaque here at the Lyric Theatre West End, in memory of Michael Jackson the entertainer, the humanitarian and also the individual who I’ll always remember as a kind, loving and genuine soul.”
