Theatre Break News : Dreamboats & Petticoats Returns to the West End
The popular 1960s-set musical Dreamboats And Petticoats will swing back into the West End later this month to play a limited run at the Wyndhams theatre from 16 Oct to coincide with the release of Universals sixth Dreamboats And Petticoats album.
Dreamboats And Petticoats tells the story of two young musicians who compete against each other to win not only a national songwriting competition but, more importantly, the attention of the gorgeous Sue.
It’s a show, that since it first opened at the Savoy theatre in 2009, has entertained more than two million people. Written by the team behind BBC TV sitcoms Goodnight Sweetheart and Birds Of A Feather, the musical features some of the greatest songs of the rock n roll era, including Lets Dance, To Know Him Is To Love Him, Shaking All Over, Happy Birthday Sweet 16, Let It Be Me and Lets Twist Again.
After Dreamboats And Petticoats finishes it’s run on 16th Jan 2013, Rowan Atkinson takes up residence at Wyndham’s in Richard Eyres revival of the comedy Quartermaines Terms. This production marks Atkinsons first appearance in a play for almost 25 years.
