School Visit to Stratford Upon Avon or Shakespeare in three acts!

By mixing live performances by the Royal Shakespeare Company with visits to the Shakespeare properties and drama or poetry workshops a trip to Stratford-upon-Avon can provide a unique stimulus for your English or Drama class.

  • Pre-performance Drama workshop with the Royal Shakespeare Company, choose from themes of: Dramatic Approaches to Text and Language, Dramatic Approaches to Character, Key Themes and Issues, Dramatic Approaches to Inspire Writing, Devising through Shakespeare, Exploring Rehearsal Room Choices.
  • Hop-on hop-off bus tickets for the open-top bus
  • Visits to 3 Shakespeare's Birthplace Trust properties: Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Hall’s Croft – the home of Shakespeare’s daughter (Susanna) and her husband (Dr John Hall) and Nash’s House and New Place –  the house of Shakespeare’s granddaughter and the site of the home where Shakespeare died.

  • Two picnic packed lunches provided by the Youth Hostel

Day One

Arrive after lunch to start the trip with a pre-performance Drama workshop on a subject of your choice. Then after dinner go to the first evening performance of the trip.

Day Two

The morning of the second day starts with a backstage tour, from there have some spare time for shopping and exploring the town. Packed lunches provided by the Youth Hostel are fitted in before seeing the first performance of the day, a matinee. In the evening return to the theatre for third and final evening performance.

Day Three

The last morning leaves you time to travel around Stratford Upon Avon on the open-top bus and visit the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust properties for an insight into the life and times of William Shakespeare. Another packed lunch provided by the Youth Hostel fills your group up for the return journey.

Adults: Three free adults (extra adults: £146pp)
