Teacher / Adult : Student ratios

Many LEAs set their own levels, but the DfES recognises good practice for day visits of:

  • 1 adult for every 6 pupils in years 1 to 3 ( with under 5s reception classes having a higher ratio)

  • 1 adult for every 10 pupils in school years 4 to 6

  • 1 adult for every 15- 20 pupils in year 7 onwards.

with the ratio on overnight trips invariably set lower

Good To See offer one a free place per 10 students with competitive prices for additional teachers/adults as required.
