Day One
The group arrives
early to an introduction of the events taking place during their
stay: the plays, the visits, the drama workshop and the creative
writing task.
After lunch a
matinee performance is the first of the three plays followed by tea
and then on to the evening performance: a busy start to their stay
enables them to fit as much into their time in Stratford as possible.
Day Two
The morning of the
second day is taken up by a Drama Workshop run by the teachers
(although for a little extra a workshop can be organised using a
local group of actors).
After a leisurely
lunch at Café Rouge the group enjoys a tour of Shakespeare's
Birthplace. Followed by a tour of the two theatres: the Royal
Shakespeare Theatre and the Swan Theatre before supper, followed by
the last performance of the visit (matinees and a changing repertoire
allow visitors the chance to see up to four plays in two days!).
Day Three
The last morning
takes place around the River Avon. A boat cruise gives the students
one last look at Stratford from a slightly different angle and
lastly, whilst relaxing in the gardens by the river, the students
read the poems that they have been working on for their creative
writing task.
