After the soaring successful of Matilda the Musical Roald Dahl’s legacy lives on with the musical adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with music and lyrics by Scott Wittman & Marc Shaiman (Hairspray) and produced by Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, Neal Street Productions and Kevin McCormick.

Written by Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was first published in 1964 in the US and in the UK in 1967. The book has been adapted twice for films Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) starring Gene Wilder and Tim Burton’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) with Johnny Depp taking the Willy Wonka role.
