Moonwalking into the West End after three acclaimed UK tours and standing ovations across Europe, Thriller – Live opened at the Lyric Theatre on 2 January 2009. To bring to life on stage the sensational dancing and distinctive sound of the Jackson’s greatest hits, Thriller – Live includes eye-popping multi-media effects and dazzling choreography by the shows award-winning director Gary Lloyd (who has previously worked with artists including Leona Lewis, Will Young, Robbie Williams, Kelly Clarkson and Girls Aloud), plus additional choreography by 5 time MTV award-winning LaVelle Smith Jnr.

Michael Jackson has been commemorated in the West End with a permanent memorial, unveiled 24 June 2010 in the Lyric Theatre, which is home to Thriller – Live. The unveiling of the plaque, in the foyer, marks a year since Jackson’s death and Thriller – Live’s long residency at the venue.

Executive director of Thriller – Live Adrian Grant, who knew Jackson for more than 20 years, said: “We (have) unveiled this plaque here at the Lyric Theatre West End, in memory of Michael Jackson the entertainer, the humanitarian and also the individual who I’ll always remember as a kind, loving and genuine soul.”
