" I never thought Id be mesmerised watching Will Young perform… But starring in the stage version of Cabaret, he is staggeringly good." Joe Mott, Daily Star "Will Young has a genuinely disconcerting stage presence with his slicked-down hair, lustful eyes and predatory stillness, and there is a potent mixture of malignity and glee in his performance. " Charles Spencer, Daily Telegraph
Rufus Norris Olivier Award-winning production Cabaret will be revived at the Savoy theatre, London this Autumn. And million selling recording artist, Will Young, will make his West End debut starring as Emcee. Based on Christopher Isherwoods book " Am A Camera", booking a Cabaret Theatre Break will take you into the dark time of the Nazis’ rise to power in 1931 Berlin. It centres on the relationship between cabaret star Sally Bowles and a young American writer. The Cabaret Theatre Break is set at the flamboyant Kit Kat Klub where anything goes with music & lyrics by Kander and Ebb including iconic songs Money Makes The World Go Around, Two Ladies and Maybe This Time. The Cabaret Theatre Break returns to London following an acclaimed two year run at the Lyric theatre in 2006 which featured an award-winning performance by Sheila Hancock. Will Young, who won the ITV series Pop Idol in 2002, has gone on to sell over 9 million albums. His No 1 record "Evergreen" is still the best selling single in the last 12 years. Although his portrayal of the enigmatic Emcee will be his London stage debut, Young made his theatrical debut in 2007 at the Manchester Exchange theatre in Noël Cowards The Vortex. He has previously appeared in the film "Miss Henderson Presents" with Dame Judy Dench. An excited Will Young said: "The role of the Emcee is a part I have wanted to play since before I started training at Arts Education in Chiswick when I first moved to London. I have spent the last 10 years singing, dancing and acting all separately. For the first time I get to do all three in one show. Also joining Will Young is ex-Eastender Michelle Ryan who has also made an inpact on US audiences with her portrayal as The Bionic Woman in the tv series remake. She also starred in the riviting 2007 BBC thriller "Jekyll" . Cabaret will play a strictly limited season at the Savoy theatre.
