Everyone knows that a London Theatre Break is a special occassion. The trip to London, great seats for one of the West End’s top shows, a pre-theatre dinner, a post-theatre drink or stroll through Theatreland and a nearby hotel to lay your sleepy head. But for some guests that is only half the story.
Whether it is to celebrate a “big” birthday or a significant anniversary, sometimes the occasion deserves a little more luxury.
First class rail travel to London, Champagne at the interval and a five star hotel!
5 star theatre breaks in London
Here at theatre breaks we pride ourselves on our service and we try to live up to the standards set by our very best hotels.
In London’s Theatreland we are lucky enough to have some excellent hotels with exquisite rooms, suites and on-site facilities.
5 star theatre breaks in Theatreland
Of course one of the most famous and close to our heart because of having it’s very own theatre, The Savoy Hotel on the Strand is a wonderful place to stay in London for a luxury theatre break.
The American Bar, the amazing spa and leisure facilities, including a stunning swimming pool set in its own atrium, the restaurants (Gordon Ramsays and Kaspars Fish Bar and Grill, all add to the magic of a stay at this iconic hotel but of course, for any five star theatre break, it is the shows that make the occasion special.
Currently performing at the Savoy Theatre is the Dolly Parton musical – 9 to 5.
5 star theatre breaks at the Savoy could also include tickets for The Lion King, Mamma Mia, Matilda, Tina Turner Musical and Waitress. All within a few minutes walk of the hotel.
But it takes 40 minutes to walk across Theatreland and the Savoy is on one side, so where else can you stay.
5 star theatre breaks in Mayfair
Just the otherside of Piccadilly Circus is le Meridien Hotel: another famous name in London hotels. It is close to the musical granddaddy of them all, The Phantom of the Opera at the Her Majesty’s Theatre and features more opportunities for pampering, excellent dining and afternoon tea including a rather original Gin and Tonic Afternoon Tea – just the thing after a hard day’s shopping!
Another great option, with its own musical connections (and an easy walk across Regents Street to Theatreland) is the Westbury Hotel in Mayfair – this is where Lerner and Lowe wrote My Fair Lady!
5 star theatre breaks in Victoria
Across town in Victoria there are two more theatres, slightly set apart from the rest of Theatreland: the Victoria Palace and the Apollo Victoria which are the venues for two of London’s most succesful musicals: Hamilton and Wicked.
This area is best served by The Goring Hotel. With only 69 guest rooms over 5 floors it is much more of a private haven than that offered by the Savoy and the Le Meridien and the service and attention to detail is second to none. Those of you who have already noticed that we are lucky enough to be allowed to feature TripAdvisor scores for all of our hotels, as well as our own, on our booking system, will have seen that the Goring features in their top 10 London hotels.
We actually offer 20 five star hotels around central London – from the Sheraton Marriot and Hilton hotels on Park Lane, to the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hampshire in the bootom right hand corner of Leicester Square itself. So whatever your special occassion, we are fairly sure that we have the special venue to suit.
