London’s breath-taking theatrical event is once again staged at the Kings Cross theatre where a 1,000 seat venue has been built around the railway tracks with audiences seated either side. The production features the amazing Stirling Single, a beautiful 60 tonne steam locomotive.
Originally staged by York Theatre Royal in the National Railway Museum, it then transferred to the old Eurostar terminal at Waterloo Station in London before moving north to the Kings Cross theatre in January 2015.
Siblings Bobbie, Peter and Phyllis are forced to move, with their mother, from London to Yorkshire after their father unexpectedly leaves the family home. During their exploration of the surrounding countryside, they discover the railway line which ultimately leads to the discovery of where their father has disappeared to. It has been adapted for the stage by Mike Kelly and features a beautiful 60-tonne locomotive that steams into the theatre to the delight of all ages.
