Based on the Meadows in Edinburgh, Circus Hub, created and programmed by Underbelly, will feature two of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe’s most distinctive venues in 2016: a Spiegletent (the UK’s largest) and a traditional circus tent.

Between the two venues, Circus Hub will bring ten world-class shows to Edinburgh: the programme includes two world premieres and one European premiere!
Director of Underbelly, Ed Bartlam, said:
‘We’re delighted to bring Circus Hub back to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe … this year’s Circus Hub programme focuses on the best of British and Irish talent and the leading exponents of circus in Australia and will offer everyone, from families to late night fringe revellers, fantastic circus to enjoy.’
Highlights from this year’s programme include:
- The world premiere of a brand new show from Irish chanteuse Camille O’Sullivan, featuring songs by Cave, Bowie, Brel, Arcade Fire and Radiohead
- Australian sensations Briefs Factory with a world premiere of a brand new hot and sizzling show Sweat Shop
- and The Raunch which brings together legendary UK cabaret performer Empress Stah and the Most Wanted of international cabaret and circus in a whip-cracking, rodeo-rocking night for the fun-hearted, not the faint-hearted!
It is not all about new acts and, returning from successful runs in 2015, family favourites, The Hogwallops and the Trash Test Dummies will be presenting their shows at the Circus Hub.
Full Cirqle will also be running their Family Circus Workshops, giving children aged 8 to 108 the chance to have some fun with circus skills.
Underbelly’s Circus Hub runs from Thursday 4 August to Monday 22 August.
