News: The Book of Mormon comes to London

London’s newest musical The Book of Mormon officially opened at the Prince of Wales theatre last month and has so far been well received by the critics so much so that the booking period has now been extended to 2017.
When the controversial musical written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone was first announced as opening in the West End, tickets were only available to buy for the first 5 months – I can only imagine this was because the producers had no idea how the British public would receive this show full of blasphemy, profanity and hilarity. However, the sell-out previews proved that we love this sort of thing and tickets are fast becoming hard to come by EXCEPT of course if you book through Theatre Breaks where we have good availability from August onwards at prices to suit all budgets.
Along with religion, AIDs and tyrannical rule, The Book of Mormon also pokes fun at many of America’s much loved musicals with homages to Disney’s The Lion King, Wicked and Annie.
This is a very cleverly written modern musical which will have you laughing in the aisles (even when you feel you shouldn’t be) and giving a standing-ovation to the whole cast who give 110% during the performance – especially American leads Jared Gertner and Gavin Creel.
